The Best of Everyday Fiction 2008!

By Rumjhum Biswas

Actually what I am doing is sharing some more happy news which is not exactly crisp new. Everyday Fiction is bringing out their first print anthology of the 100 best stories of the year. I learned about it early this month when I received an email telling me that my story had been selected. I was so thrilled!

The list of selected stories includes all my favourite stories of the year. Believe you me when I say that I am in very good company here! If you’ve been reading the stories in EDF then you know about the incredibly talented pool of writers that EDF manages to bring out.

Seriously this was the icing on the cake! I have been reading EDF since the very first story that they published. I have submitted my work too. Not all my submissions are accepted, but the fabulous feedback that editors  Jordan Lapp and Camille Gooderham Campbell give to each and every story makes it all worth it. I have reworked on stories that Jordan and Camille commented on  and have successfully placed them in other publications. Reading the stories on EDF and the comments by readers below each published story has sharpened my own eye. And now I am in their very first anthology – The Best of Everyday Fiction 2008 – soon to be published!

Another EDF contributor has also posted in his blog: http://billwardwriter.com/every-day-fictions-first-best-of-anthology/

More details to be posted when the anthology comes out.
