Sometime in 2007 – 08 I wrote a piece for a contest run by The Verb Magazine entitled “The Door Knocks.” The piece won a commendation and an excerpt (the part relevant to the contest) was published in an ensuing issue of The Verb. Now that I am also submitting to Every Day Fiction’s Blog, I thought I’d send this one there as a memoir piece. Gay Degani liked it; read it there and see if you agree!
Speaking of Gay, she has her own blog : http://wordsinplace.blogspot.com/. She is also one of the editors incharge of submissions at Every Day Fiction.
